Facebook end-to-end encryption update for Messenger: Facebook rolled out end-to-end encryption for voice and video calls on Messenger on Friday. It adds another layer of privacy to its widely-used communication platform.

“We will introduce a limited trial with adults in some countries that will allow them to opt-in to end-to-end encryption messages and allow one-on-one conversations on Instagram,” Facebook said in a blog post.

Facebook has given information about the new update in its blog. The blog states that after the new update no one will be able to see/read your private messages, calls, and video calls, although even Facebook will not have any information about it. Facebook has also said that end-to-end encryption will be released for Instagram soon, although no exact date has been given.

Facebook says that initially end-to-end encryption will be tested on Instagram with some users and then it will be released to everyone. In the coming time, end-to-end encryption will also be tested in Instagram Messenger.

Let us tell you that before this, many features like Disappearing Message have been added by Facebook in Messenger. Users can set a timer ranging from 5 seconds to 24 hours for the disparaging message. The message will be automatically deleted according to the timer.

The security feature will also be tested in Messenger’s group chat in the coming weeks.
