The end of hunting for wifi: Facebook's app to show nearby networks
Facebook has launched a new feature in its main app platform to help
people find free and public WiFi near to them. Facebook Find WiFi is
already rolled out worldwide that lists the free WiFi hot-spot near you,
to connect to the internet.
Facebook launched Find Wi-Fi in a handful of
countries last year and found it's not only helpful for people who are
traveling or on-the-go, but especially useful in areas where cellular
data is scarce.'
Find Wi-Fi helps you locate available Wi-Fi hot spots nearby that businesses have shared with Facebook from their Page.
So wherever you are, you can easily map the closest connections when your data connection is weak.
Once activated, the feature automatically detects places with free Wi-Fi near the user's location and marks them on their map.
